Therapy and Coaching for Performing Artists

Nervous-system-based support for musicians and performers navigating performance anxiety, injury, burnout, and the freeze that shows up when the pressure is on.

You can’t out-practice a nervous system that doesn’t feel safe.
Calm the body   •   Reset the pattern   •   Let your artistry through
Does this sound like you?

When your body won’t cooperate with your technique

On paper, everything looks solid. Years of training. Successful gigs. People tell you you’re talented and prepared. But when the pressure rises, your body tells a different story. In auditions, rehearsals, or on stage, something deeper takes over. You freeze. You shake. Your breath disappears — right when you need steadiness most.

Maybe you:

  • Feel your hands shake, your arm tighten, or your breath cut short in high-stakes moments
  • Dread auditions or solos, then spiral with frustration or shame afterward
  • Over-prepare, over-correct, and still shut down when it counts
  • Feel haunted by an injury or “one bad moment” that changed how you trust your body
  • Have tried talking about it, but traditional therapy never touched what happens under pressure

You’ve worked too hard to have your career limited by something that doesn’t make sense. You don’t want more advice to “just relax” or push through. You want your body to finally work with you, not against you.

why this method works

How Performance Freedom™ helps

We don’t start with more practice strategies. We start with your nervous system — where performance blocks actually live. Whether we’re working in therapy in Pennsylvania or Performance Freedom™ coaching worldwide, sessions are designed to:

Over time, performers notice:

  • Performances that reflect the technique they actually have
  • Auditions that feel manageable instead of terrifying
  • Fewer freeze or shake moments — and quicker recovery when they happen
  • More freedom to express, not just get through it
  • Identify the moments your body goes into alarm, even when you’re prepared
  • Work directly with the nervous system using Brainspotting and somatic tools
  • Release old training patterns, injuries, and pressure responses that still show up on stage
  • Rebuild trust so your body supports your performance instead of hijacking it

about ezgi

Hi, I'm Ezgi Yargici.

I’m a licensed trauma therapist, Brainspotting practitioner, and professional violinist. I help performing artists whose technique is solid but whose bodies shut down when it matters most.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent decades inside the classical music world. I know what it’s like to live in practice rooms, push through pain or injury, and hear “just relax” when your entire body is in alarm.

That lived experience shapes how I work. My clients are orchestra musicians, soloists, Broadway and theater performers, singers, dancers, and other artists whose careers depend on what happens in high-pressure moments.

Many have tried more practice, performance coaching, or medication — and still find that something deeper takes over on stage.

In our work together, we look at what’s actually running the show underneath: nervous-system responses, training wounds, and old survival patterns that surface when the spotlight hits. Using Brainspotting and other body-based tools, we help your system feel safe enough to let your technique, training, and artistry come through.

For performers in Pennsylvania, this work happens in a therapy frame. For artists worldwide, I offer Performance Freedom™ coaching and consulting. My style is warm, precise, and honest. I won’t ask you to “just think differently.” We’ll work directly with the part of you that freezes, shakes, or disappears — so your body can finally trust what you already know how to do.

my approach

A nervous-system-based, performance-informed approach

Nervous system first. We work where performance blocks actually live — in the body.

Deep work, not hype. Trauma-informed, neuroexperiential work tailored specifically to performers.

Brainspotting as a core tool. Accessing and releasing patterns practice alone can’t touch.

Artist-to-artist understanding. You don’t have to translate your world to be understood.

Gentle and direct. Compassionate, structured sessions focused on change you can feel.

Questions performers often ask

What are your rates?

Session fees depend on the service we choose together. Standard 50-minute therapy or coaching sessions are $200 USD.

Do you take insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. For therapy clients in Pennsylvania, I can provide a superbill you may submit to your insurance for possible partial reimbursement, depending on your plan. Coaching clients pay privately and are not eligible for insurance reimbursement.

Where do sessions take place?

All sessions are held online via secure video. Therapy is available to residents of Pennsylvania. Performance Freedom™ coaching is available to performers worldwide, subject to scheduling and time zones.

Who do you work with?

I primarily work with adult performers whose work involves high-pressure performance — orchestra musicians, soloists, Broadway and theater performers, dancers, singers, and other public-facing artists. If you’re unsure whether you’re a fit, we can talk through it on a consultation call.

Is this therapy or coaching?

If you live in Pennsylvania, our work can take place as therapy, addressing both performance and broader emotional themes. For performers living elsewhere, we work in a coaching and consulting frame. The tools are grounded in deep clinical training, but the language and scope stay within a coaching model for legal and ethical reasons.

Can this help if my main issue is injury-related?

Yes. Many performers reach out after an injury or a moment that changed everything. We can work with the nervous-system impact of that experience — the fear of re-injury, the loss of trust in your body, and the identity shifts that follow — alongside your medical or physical rehab.
